A Personal Space Reading - Part 1

A Peak Behind the Curtain of My Process

Think of this as your personal guide to understanding—or maybe even DIYing—a space reading. Whether you're curious about how I work before booking or interested in exploring some of these techniques for yourself, I thought it might be fun to pull back the curtain and share my process with you.

Today, I'm doing something a bit different: performing a reading on my own space and taking you along for the ride. I’ve also included a voice memo of my analysis of the reading in case that suits your fancy. While I skipped my usual client questionnaire (I'd like to think I know myself pretty well!), everything else follows my standard practice.

First: Numerology

I always begin with the home's numerology, as it provides crucial insight into how energy wants to express itself within a space. (I have a deep dive on numerology coming soon to explain how this all works!)

My current home is a "2" space, which speaks to duality, partnership, sensitivity, and connection. Think of Libra's scales: balance is key here. While these spaces excel at nurturing partnerships and commitments of all kinds, they can sometimes slip into codependency or monotony.

Second: Intuitive Reading

For my readings, I use The Wild Unknown Alchemy Deck—my absolute favorite for this work. I employ a thirteen-card spread: one for each of The Twelve Spheres, plus a thirteenth to "unlock" the reading. Sometimes I vary the order, but I always begin with The Bedroom and end with The Key.

My Spread
  1. The Bedroom — restoration, duality, intimacy

Card: Summer — pleasure, embodiment, heat, agitation, nearing full expression, bursting

Translation: We’re in the middle of the story, trust the timing.

  2. The Bathroom — flowing, cleansing, reflecting

Card: The Mystical Sister — heartfelt connection, friendship, listening, presence, outreach

Translation: Reflection through connection. Healing through friendship.

  3. The Kitchen — creation, nourishment, consumption

Card: Sugar — pleasure, attraction, simplicity, stickiness, nectar

Translation — Sweetness as a form of nourishment.

  4. The Wardrobe — armor, expression, self

Card: The Drowned King — feeling blue, attachment to an identity, unbecoming, rebalancing, correction

Translation: To fully express myself I need to let go of something.

  5. The Entryway — threshold, transition, first impression

Card: Uranus — surprise, awakening, individualism, shifting, shaking things up, new perspective

Translation — I’m surprising others and myself through the new identity I’m stepping into.

  6. The Workplace — exchange, collaboration, dynamism

Card: Resin — hesitant to change, holding, adhering, attachment, protection

Translation — Where am I being overly self-protective? What am I holding on to?

  7. The Phone — perspective, attention, memory

Card: Darkening — go dark, unplug, transformation, depth, ready to admit who I am, expression

Translation: Change focus. Stop endlessly consuming and start sharing. Then step away.

  8. The Wallet — identity, bridge, resources

Card: Autumn — harvest, culmination, hard work is paying off, share the wealth, value, pay it forward

Translation: Give and you shall receive.

  9. The Vehicle — momentum, drive, navigation

Card: Gold — mining for gold, radiance, illumination, heartfelt, value, warmth, nectar, treasure

Translation — There is hidden treasure here. Trust the body to steer me in the right direction.

  10. The Exterior — protection, attraction, opportunity

Card: The New Pearl — grit, irritation, embrace patience and consistency, in process, treasure

Translation — A new me is forming, know that the process is grit. Be patient.

  11. The Living Room — inviting, entertaining, connecting

Card: Androgyne — embodiment, integration, contradiction, complexity, forget your identity

Translation: Sometimes contradiction is the key to connection.

  12. The Closet — secrets, skeletons, shadows

Card: Reddening — vitality, full expression, heart pumping, integration, physicality, lively

Translation: Right now, integration comes through the body. Embrace it.

  13. The Key — How do we unlock the reading?

Card: Fog — disorientation, unclear, confusion, lull, funk, patient

Translation: Do I need heat or time to move out of this? How can I keep myself on track through connection?

Key Themes Emerging

The reading reveals a period of transformation—like a cake baking in the oven. A new me is emerging. All the ingredients for a new identity have been mixed, but patience and consistency are crucial now. Pulling out too soon could cause everything to collapse.

During this waiting period, the cards suggest focusing on:

  • Connecting with others

  • Expressing myself authentically

  • Embodying who I want to become

Interesting patterns emerged: Agitation appears in both The Bedroom and The Exterior, while a certain stickiness manifests in The Kitchen and The Workplace. An attachment to a previous sense of self shows up across multiple spheres—the Workplace, The Wardrobe, The Living Room, and The Entryway—indicating this is a major area of focus.

Questions I’m Asking Myself

  • What am I overly attached to?

  • Why am I resisting evolution?

  • Where can I find pleasure in the current moment?

  • Where do things feel sticky, and how can I alleviate that?

  • What's agitating me right now, and how can I move through it with grace?

Next week, we'll explore the second part of this reading: a tour of my space and the action steps I’ll be taking. If you're interested in a Space Reading of your own, my books are open! Feel free to reach out with any questions.
